Portrait Exhibition

I created a gallery of twelve large-format portraits for Les Compagnons du Devoir, part of the "L'Apprentissage Dès Demain" inclusion program, shown at an exhibition during an evening dedicated to inclusion. The subjects were all 18 or younger, young people with difficult pasts, many rebuilding their lives through manual trades.

The Vision

The intent was dignity, not pity: to treat each subject as a craftsman in the making and give visibility to stories that are often overlooked. No heavy staging, no artifice, image built around trust first.

Execution

I spent several hours with them before the shoot, then arrived early to install the gallery myself, hanging each portrait one by one. Seeing their faces gradually fill the room shifted the project from assignment to responsibility.
