The Vision

“The job is duty and honor.” For the launch of The Legacy Series at the iconic Fairmont San Francisco, I had the privilege of documenting William May. As a legendary doorman atop Nob Hill, William is more than an employee; he is a living symbol of San Francisco’s hospitality. The goal was to capture the profound sense of pride and "duty" that defines his decades of service.

Execution

The visual narrative focuses on the quiet, dignified moments of a day on the door. From the crisp adjustment of the uniform to the genuine warmth of a greeting, the cinematography emphasizes that luxury is felt in the sincerity of a welcome.

Filmed against the majestic backdrop of Nob Hill, the edit balances the grandeur of the hotel’s exterior with intimate close-ups of William’s interactions. By highlighting the "hearts behind the hotel," this series transforms corporate history into an emotional brand legacy that resonates deeply with a modern digital audience.
